Sacred Sound

The idea for Sacred Sound began to germinate when artist, Khila Khani, shared with me how she sounds the shofar at her temple. I was familiar with Polynesian people ceremoniously calling with a conch shell. This led me to discover that the conch shell is blown also in the Hindu tradition. I have incorporated all three into this painting combined with two cymatics, or sound patterns One is a tone in the background and a second one is revealed under blue light.
