Location

12" x 24" Acrylic and Metallic Foil on Canvas
This shape shifting iguana self portrait calls into question what it means to be an invasive species. As an avid gardener she sees the iguanas as a threat and recognizes their proliferation as detrimental to the ecosystem of plant and animal life here in South Florida. Painting herself into the portrait as a shamanistic character surrounded by indigenous rock paintings and an otherworldly radiating aura points out that she, herself is an invasive species.
